FISHING AT THE LAKE

​Lake Somerville is a popular fishing destination known for its abundance of white bass, largemouth bass, crappie, catfish, and sunfish. Our marina provides convenient lake access, and live bait is available for purchase at the on-site camp store.

Regulations:

All patrons fishing at Lake Somerville must have a current Texas Parks & Wildlife fishing license and can be purchased at Official Online Fishing & Hunting License Sales. ​Licenses are not sold on site.

TAKING THE BOAT OUT 

​Our marina includes four concrete boat ramps, making it easy to get your boat in the water—even on busy weekends. Guests can also bring their kayaks, canoes, or jet skis for a day of fun on the lake.

Lake Hours

•     Open 30 Minutes after Sunrise

•     Close 20 Minutes before Sunset

•     Open at Sunrise

•     Close at Sunset

Launch Fees

•     ​$5 to Launch (includes parking)

•     $5 Lake use fee per vessel

•     First come first served.

WALKING THE TRAILS

​Please Note:

•     Trails are natural and may be uneven—closed-toe shoes are recommended.

•     Trail surfaces can become slippery after rain.

•     Always bring water and let someone know your route if hiking alone.

TAKING A SWIM

​Designated sanded areas available for swimming area along our shoreline. The gradual slope and sandy bottom make it ideal for kids and families.

Important Information

•     No lifeguards are on duty—swimming is at your own risk.

•     Children should be supervised at all times.

•     Be mindful of boats and jet skis in shared-use areas.

•     Use flotation devices if unsure of swimming abilities.
